FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - Forward Emmanuel Ledesma has been voted the United Soccer League's Player of the Week for Week 10 after factoring on all four of FC Cincinnati's goals in the team's 4-1 win over North Carolina FC on Saturday, May 19, at Nippert Stadium. Additionally, midfielder Nazmi Albadawi earned a place on the USL Team of the Week following his two-goal effort in the win.
Ledesma registered a one-goal and career-high three-assist effort in a 71-minute shift in Saturday's victory. The Argentine playmaker drew 47 percent of player of the week vote, which was conducted among a selection of national and independent media who cover USL.
The selection to the USL Team of the Week is Ledesma's team-high third of the season. He was also voted the USL Team of the Week in weeks Nos. 7 and 8. This week's appearance on the league's team of the week is Albadawi's first of his career.
Ledesma is the USL's assist leader in 2017, recording seven assists - four more than the next closest players. He also is tied for the team's lead in goals, netting four strikes in 10 appearances. Albadawi has scored three goals so far this season, his first with FC Cincinnati.
FC Cincinnati returns to the field on tomorrow, Wednesday, May 23, when the team travels to fellow USL side Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third-round match at the Riverhounds' Highmark Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ussoccer.com.
Returning to USL action this weekend, first-place FCC (6-2-2, 20 pts.) comes back to Nippert Stadium on Saturday, May 26, when the Orange & Blue host arch rival Louisville City FC at 7:30 p.m., in the club's Hometown Heroes Match. Tickets are still available at fccincinnati.com or by calling 513-977-KICK (5425).
