FC Montreal News Release

MONTREAL - FC Montreal will finish its series of four home games in 12 days this Wednesday at 7pm, hosting the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.

The fans will enter the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex on the Southwest side of the field, starting at 6pm. The cost is $5, with $1 going to the Montreal Impact Foundation. Admission is free for season ticket holders on presentation of their membership card.

Montreal lost 2-1 in the first meeting between the two teams this season, on June 18 in Pittsburgh. Anthony Jackson-Hamel scored the only FC Montreal goal of the game, while Kevin Kerr and Corey Hertzog scored for the Riverhounds.

"We prepare to play a game with quality and a lot of motivation, like every game," said head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. "Even if the results are negative, the players never give up and keep putting intensity into games. The starting XI will have many changes again. In Pittsburgh, we didn't play well in the first 45 minutes, with a second half that was slightly better. These are teams that we can beat if we play 90 minutes, but when we play only 45 minutes, it becomes harder."

The roster should be different again on Wednesday. On top of players coming back from injuries and first-team players available for the games, midfielder and captain Louis Beland-Goyette will serve his one game suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season last Saturday. Defender Janouk Charbonneau served his one-game suspension in the last game and will be available on Wednesday.

"I'm excited to play again. It was frustrating to sit in the last game as I wanted to help my teammates," said Janouk Charbonneau. "It's not easy to play so many games, but the staff and players are dealing well with it to be as fresh as possible on game day. We have to respect our game principles for 90 minutes and we'll be fine."

The Riverhounds played four of their last five games a home, but won their only road game in this series by a 4-1 score against the Wilmington Hammerheads. Corey Hertzog is the top scorer of the team with seven goals, followed by Kevin Kerr with three.

FC Montreal will play its next game on Saturday, August 13, at 7:30pm against the Battery in Charleston at MUSC Health Stadium.
