
FC Gold Pride Sets Opening Day Roster

Hayward, CA (April 1, 2010) - FC Gold Pride officially announced the team's opening day roster of 18 today. Additionally, the team has filled three of its four available developmental positions.
The Pride returns eight players including defender Rachel Buehler, who will captain the Bay Area squad in their second WPS campaign. Returning with Buehler, is Canada's all-time leading goal scorer Christine Sinclair; US veteran striker Tiffeny Milbrett; US National Team goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart; defenders Kandace Wilson, Carrie Dew and Kristen Graczyk; and midfielder Kim Yokers.
The Pride boasts a roster filled with international talent, adding four-time FIFA World Player of the Year Marta, French star Camille Abily, Norway's most capped female player Solveig Gulbrandsen, and Canadian National Team mainstay Candace Chapman during the offseason.
The Pride emerged from the 2010 WPS Draft with several top collegiate players from a highly touted senior class, including 2009 MAC Hermann Trophy winner Kelley O'Hara; and All-Americans Ali Riley, Becky Edwards, Kaley Fountain, and Kiki Bosio. FC Gold Pride will open up the 2010 season on the road Sunday, April 11 against Saint Louis Athletica and will return to the Bay Area for the home opener Saturday, April 17 against the reigning WPS Champion Sky Blue FC.
