Fort Lauderdale, Florida (April 11, 2013) - A draw against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers last Saturday was enough to see the team go top of the table after Week 1, thanks to 0-0 draws in the other two games (Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Carolina RailHawks and San Antonio Scorpions vs. Minnesota United FC). Now the new look Eddies will switch their focus over to the Carolina RailHawks.

FC Edmonton's Chris Nurse is battling a hamstring injury and will likely not be ready to face his former squad. On the RailHawks side, former Eddie Paul Hamilton will be suspended for the match against his old mates because of two Yellows last Saturday.

FC Edmonton has avoided the snow back home this week, choosing to stay in Fort Lauderdale in order to train outside.

Assistant coach Jeff Paulus is pleased with how his team played on Saturday and the work they've put in throughout the week on the road.

"It's been great for the team to be on the road this week. The guys have been able to bond, they get out after training sessions and get to know each other," Paulus said. "What we're seeing on the pitch right now with these players, they're coming together as a group. They like each other, they're training with smiles on their faces and enjoying their football. We're very happy with the level of play."

All-time FC Edmonton leading scorer, Shaun Saiko continued to add to his tally against the Strikers on Saturday, crossing a pinpoint pass into the box which new-addition Wes Knight headed into the back of the net.

The pair, along with the rest of the squad will go into Cary looking to add to the offense.

Kick off in Carolina is 5 p.m. MT. Catch the stream at www.fcedmonton.com .
