EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton has signed 16-year-old Joseph Holliday to a developmental player contract for the 2021 season as the third goalkeeper, the club announced today.

The Canadian Premier League (CPL) developmental contract permits Holliday to train with the team and play in a maximum of (6) matches during the 2021 season. He traveled with the team to Winnipeg for the 2021 CPL's Kick-Off Event, which begins this Saturday, June 26 with the Eddies taking on Atletico Ottawa.

"Joseph is a very talented young goalkeeper who we are excited to provide an opportunity to be with our professional team," said FC Edmonton Head Coach, Alan Koch. "Having him with us in the bubble will be a fantastic growth opportunity for him. He has been very impressive in our daily training environment, and we are excited to continue to work with him on his development".

Holliday (6'0"and 165 pounds) is a local product having grown up in Edmonton. He trained with Goalking Soccer Academy, a local Goalkeeper training program, before signing with FC Edmonton's youth academy in 2017 at age 12.
