FC Edmonton News Release
Toronto, ON - The second leg of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship semi-final between Toronto FC and FC Edmonton takes place tomorrow in Toronto (6 p.m. Mountain Time kick off). The game will be shown live on Rogers Sportsnet.
Toronto FC beat FC Edmonton at Commonwealth Stadium last Wednesday and the team needs a heroic game from each of its players in order to move on in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.
Edmonton travelled to The Big Smoke with 19 players. Regular number one keeper Rein Baart stayed home after being shown a Red card in NASL action on Sunday night so Lance Parker will pull on the gloves and step between the posts for the first time. Jaswinder Gill will be backing him up. Midfielder Shaun Saiko stayed home because of a Red card of his own in the first leg and striker and Ontario-native Kyle Porter could be in the starting 11 in front of his friends and family tomorrow night as striker Chris Lemire serves an NASL suspension.
Toronto FC travelled to Seattle from Edmonton after last week's match and took on the Sounders in MLS action on Saturday. While TFC managed to score a 3-0 win against Edmonton, they were handed a defeat by the same score in Seattle and are anxious to get back to their winning-ways.
