FC Edmonton News Release
EDMONTON, AB (July 23, 2014) - FC Edmonton has partnered with San Francisco-based mobile sports startup CrowdSporting to make the beautiful game a little more engaging for fans, whether watching from Clarke Stadium, The Pint, or the couch.
CrowdSporting recently launched a beta version of an app in which fans compete against one another to predict the win-draw-loss outcome of their favourite teams' matches as fast as possible, during a live match.
The app, currently available for iPhone, is being tested by FC Edmonton as a way to bring fans closer to the team and to reward them based on their in-app scores and varying levels of engagement.
With attendance numbers steadily growing this season, FC Edmonton hope that adding this mobile experience to their on-field product will bring new fans to matches, and ultimately create the best, real-time, in-game experience possible.
For fans interested in testing their skills right away, there's a 4-game CrowdSporting challenge in the app in-line with FC Edmonton's "SUMMER OF SOCCER" campaign in which fans can play CrowdSporting for the next 4 home matches.
With CrowdSporting expanding to professional soccer leagues in Scotland and the Middle East later this year, Edmonton sports fans can consider themselves early adopters and product shapers for this next generation fan engagement experience.
