EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton announced Saturday, the signing of Argentine midfielder Nicolas Di Biase. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Di Biase, 27, joins the Eddies after competing in Spain and Bolivia for the past three seasons. Last year, the left-footed midfielder scored three goals in 29 appearances with Club Blooming of Liga de Futbol Profesional Boliviano (LFPB), Bolivia's top flight of professional football. Di Biase spent the first two seasons of his professional career in Segunda B with clubs Zamora, Conquense and Lucena.

"Once we got Nico's signing nailed down, we were delighted," FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller said. "Nico is a quality player, I can already see that. He will add genuine quality, speed of play from the central area of the park, leadership and maturity."

Di Biase is the latest of several additions to the Eddies' squad in recent weeks, which include fellow midfielders Ben Fisk and Pedro Galvao. Di Biase will be available for selection for tonight's Eddies match versus Puerto Rico FC.

"I think it's a wonderful signing for us," Miller added. "I think it's a compliment to our club that we can attract players of Nico's calibre and I think he will be a very, very strong addition to the squad."

FC Edmonton will be "Stuffing the Bus" with non-perishable food and money donations at two locations over the next week, beginning with tonight's Edmonton Supporter Group Viewing Party at The Tavern on Whyte Avenue (MAP d[UNIQID]) ). Fans are encouraged to come watch the Eddies take on Puerto Rico FC at 5:30 p.m. MT at The Tavern, where they will also be able to make a food donation to the Edmonton Food Bank.
