FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., April 2, 2002 - The Fayetteville Patriots, a member of the National Basketball Development League, will host an NBA preseason game between the Washington Wizards and Denver Nuggets on October 15, 2002 at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum.
All full season ticket packages purchased for the Patriots 2002-03 NBDL season will include a free ticket to this NBA preseason matchup featuring Michael Jordan's Washington Wizards. The purchase of a partial or mini-plan for the Patriots 2002-03 NBDL season will give fans the opportunity to buy the best seats for the NBA preseason game before tickets go on sale to the general public. The Washington Wizards are currently led by 12-time NBA All-Star and six-time NBA Champion Michael Jordan, and former Duke National Champion Christian Laettner. The Wizards roster also features former University of North Carolina stars Hubert Davis and Brendan Haywood. The Denver Nuggets roster includes former Michigan "Fab Five" member Juwan Howard and Chris Andersen, a former member of the Fayetteville Patriots and the NBDL's first player called up to the NBA.
"This preseason game once again reflects the commitment the NBA is making to our community and our fans," said Patriots President Amy Perko. "We know this game is going to be a significant event for fans across the region and we are pleased the best seats will be available in advance to our loyal Patriots season ticket holders."

Tickets for the Wizards-Nuggets contest at the Crown Coliseum go on sale at 10:00 a.m. ET on Monday, April 29 at the Crown Coliseum box office, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX, via Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at (910) 223-2900 or online at Ticketmaster.com (credit card only). Tickets are available in the following price ranges: $12, $15, $18, $28, $30 and $40. A limited number of courtside seats are also available.
The NBDL, the NBA's minor league includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Mobile Revelers (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), Greenville Groove (S.C.), and Asheville Altitude (N.C.). The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Six NBDL players were called up to the NBA during the NBDL's inaugural season. Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions in each NBDL city.
