May 21, 2012 - Tobacco Road Basketball League (TRBL)
Fayetteville Crossover News Release

Fayetteville, NC: Coming off a bitter road loss to the Sea Dawgs just two days earlier, the Fayetteville Crossover wanted revenge on its home court on Sunday. The home fans were not disappointed.

The Crossover jumped out to a 29-12 lead in the first quarter through outside shooting from Jamel Carpenter (28 points) and newly acquired player and former And 1 star John "The Helicopter" Humphreys (23 points).

But, as expected, the Sea Dawgs came clawing back in the 3rd quarter and tied the score at 52 - 52 with about 7 minutes left in the period. The Crossover answered the run by punching it inside to forward Brandon Streeter who finished the game with 24 points. The Crossover held on to win 115-103. Five players scored in double figures for the Crossover.

With the win, Fayetteville secures the fourth and final TRBL playoff spot. The league's remaining 8 games will determine playoff seeding. The Crossover play a week-end home double-header against the Carolina Gladiators on Friday, May 25th and against the Cary Invasion on Saturday, May 26th.
