Father's Day Weekend Fun at Driller Park

The East Texas Pump Jacks are all about winning, both on the field with a great team, and off the field, with fun for the entire family at historic Driller Park. And this coming weekend is no exception.

This Saturday and Sunday offer a jam-packed weekend of baseball in Kilgore, as the Pump Jacks will have their second Giveaway Saturday, as well as their second Dog Days of Summer game of the 2012 season.

Fans who arrive for this week's Giveaway Saturday will receive a free foam bat courtesy of Longview Kilgore Cable TV. The bats are fun and safe for kids, but fans of all ages can enjoy cheering on their Pump Jacks by waving their bats in the air when the Jacks get a big hit. East Texas faces the Acadiana Cane Cutters, whom the Pump Jacks beat Thursday night, 8-5, with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m. and first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

The excitement continues on Father's Day this Sunday, June 17, when the Pump Jacks face off against the Texas Marshals in a doubleheader beginning at 6:00 p.m. Fans who come to the ballpark on Sunday can also take advantage of the Dog Days of Summer promotion, featuring $1 hot dogs throughout both games.

"What better way to celebrate the holiday weekend than a night at the ballpark?" general manager Mike Lieberman said. "We also offer a great opportunity for dad to spend an evening with the whole family, in an atmosphere everyone will enjoy."

The Pump Jacks are currently 8-2 on the season following Thursday's victory over the Cane Cutters.. Head coach Ben Taylor leads a talented squad of college stars as they continue to march towards their goal of a Texas Collegiate League championship in 2012.
