Falcons Extend Streak to Three
June 30, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
The Kelowna Falcons extended their winning streak to 3 games by knocking off the Kitsap BlueJackets by a 3-1 score on Monday night.
Michael Koval went 6 innings, scattering 3 hits and giving up a lone earned run to pick up his first victory.
Lane Lacrone scored the opening run in the top of the 1st inning when Max Carter singled with the bases loaded.
That was the only run the Falcons could scratch across in the inning, as BlueJackets starter Cameron Weinberg kept the hitters off-balance striking out 10 in 5 innings.
The Falcons gave up a run on 2 singles in the 2nd inning, but that would be the lone run allowed on the evening.
Kelowna scored on a Sac Fly in the 4th inning, when Kirby McGuire flew out to center with the bases loaded.
Jimmy Doyle and Matt Kirk each worked an inning of scoreless relief before Brandon Oliver homered to left to give the Falcons a 2-run cushion. Dalton Blackwell picked up his 3rd save on the season.
Kelowna will take on the BlueJackets tomorrow and Wednesday at Gene Lobe Field at Kitsap County Fairgrounds. Catch the action Tuesday with Kyle Anderson on www.kelownafalcons.com as Elias Bedolla takes the mound.
