Eyssimont, Connor, Schuldt, and Oettinger Earn USHL Weekly Honors

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League today announced the CCM Hockey player awards for the 28th week of the 2014-15 USHL regular season.

Winners include Mikey Eyssimont of the Sioux Falls Stampede and Kyle Connor of the Youngstown Phantoms, named co-recipients of CCM Forward of the Week; Jimmy Schuldt of the Omaha Lancers, named CCM Defenseman of the Week; and Jake Oettinger of Team USA, selected as CCM Goaltender of the Week.

Mikey Eyssimont, F, Sioux Falls Stampede: The 18-year-old recorded six points (2g, 4a) and posted a plus-eight rating as the Stampede won two of three games during the week. He set up the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-0 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers. He then had two points (1g, 1a) in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Tri-City Storm. Eyssimont closed out the week with three points (1g, 2a) and a game high plus-five rating in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Lincoln Stars. The forward is currently riding a six-game point streak (5g, 5a), scoring goals in five of those contests and posting a plus-11 rating. He has produced 12 points (5g, 7a) in 13 games since being acquired by the Stampede last month. The native of Littleton, Colorado is a product of the Colorado Thunderbirds youth hockey program and is committed to play college hockey at St. Cloud State University.

Kyle Connor, F, Youngstown Phantoms: The forward played just one game during the week but equaled a USHL career high as he factored in all five of his team's goals (3g, 2a) during Saturday's 5-1 win against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He netted a goal in each period, giving him the second hat trick of his USHL career. His second goal proved to be the game-winner, tying him for the USHL lead with eight game-winners this season. Connor's third goal was the 80th goal of his career with the Phantoms. The 18-year-old leads the League in scoring with 74 points (32g, 42a) through 53 games this season. He is a native of Shelby Township, Michigan and a product of the Belle Tire youth hockey program. He is committed to play college hockey at the University of Michigan.

Jimmy Schuldt, D, Omaha Lancers: The defenseman recorded six points (1g, 5a) in helping the Lancers win two of three games during the week. He had one assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Lincoln Stars. He then established a USHL career high with three points (1g, 2a), including the game-winning goal, in Friday's 6-3 victory over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Schuldt finished the week by dishing out two assists in Saturday's 4-3 win against the Fargo Force. He currently ranks seventh among USHL defensemen in scoring with 36 points (11g, 25a) through 57 games. His 11 goals are the fourth-most among League blueliners. The 19-year-old is a product of Minnetonka High School in Minnesota and is committed to play college hockey at St. Cloud State University.

Jake Oettinger, G, Team USA: The goaltender stopped all 28 shots he faced in Friday's 4-0 win against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. It was the first shutout of his USHL career. The 16-year-old has posted a 3-1-1 record over his last five starts in the USHL and has won five games in the League while compiling a .907 save percentage over 20 appearances for Team USA's Under-17 squad. He has won 10 overall games this season between USHL, international, and other competition for Team USA. Oettinger is a product of Lakeville North High School in Minnesota and is not currently committed to a college hockey program.
