Extra-Innings Thriller Falls Wayside for Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va --- The Norfolk Tides (14-28 | 42-75) fell to the Gwinnett Stripers (22-22 | 60-58), 9-6, in 10 innings at Harbor Park. The two teams played their third extra-innings game of the series, but Norfolk would lose in the 10th inning.

Enrique Bradfield Jr. led the Tides offense tonight, reaching in all five plate appearances. He went 4-for-4 with two runs, a walk and two stolen bases. He is up to 24 stolen bases this season.

Creed Willems and Payton Eeles each had two hits and two RBI tonight. Norfolk was down 6-2 into the bottom of the fifth, when they scored four runs on six hits to tie things up. Willems and Eeles both had at least one RBI in that inning.

Neither team would score for the remainder of regulation, forcing extra innings. Gwinnett would score three runs in the top of the ninth to clinch the win. Norfolk leads 3-2 in the series heading into the series finale.
