Express to Host Corpus Christi in April Exhibition

ROUND ROCK - The Round Rock Express announced Wednesday that Round Rock will host Double-A Corpus Christi at The Dell Diamond as part of a two-game exhibition series prior to the 2009 baseball season.
The two teams - both operated by Ryan Sanders Baseball - will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 5 at The Dell Diamond and again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi. Sunday's game will offer the year's first look at the Triple-A Express squad and first-year manager Marc Bombard.
"We're fortunate enough to be situated close enough to Houston and Corpus Christi to arrange a game such as this," said Round Rock president Jay Miller. "It's a great chance for fans to get a head start on the baseball season and to see multiple levels of the Astros' minor league system."
General admission tickets ($5) for the Sunday, April 4 exhibition game at The Dell Diamond will be available online and through the Express ticket office beginning in March. Round Rock 2009 season ticket holders will be admitted to the game free of charge.
The Express opens its 10th Anniversary Season at home against Iowa on Thursday, April 9.
