Explosion widens fan base to greater geographic area through Comcast On Demand

MONROE, Wash. - March 26, 2007 - General Manager Brad Sturlaugson and Comcast today announced that the Explosion basketball team has finalized a partnership agreement to televise their home basketball games on Comcast On Demand across Western Washington.

"We are very excited to join forces with Comcast to further the exposure of the Explosion basketball team to a much wider audience through Comcast On Demand," Sturlaugson said. "This will give an opportunity to those outside of our geographic area to follow the progress of the 2007 West Division Championship team as we look to defend our title, and Comcast adds a professional basketball team to their already stellar lineup of quality choices for On Demand. It's is a win-win situation for both of us."

The Explosion have a 3-1 record and play the Vancouver Volcanoes on the road this Friday, March 28 at 7pm and the Tacoma Jazz this Saturday, March 29 at 7:15pm in the Monroe Sports Arena. Seats are still available by calling 425-339-BALL(2255) or at the box office at the arena starting at 5:00pm.

Snohomish County Explosion Basketball is an international sports organization based in Monroe, Washington. As a member of the International Basketball League (IBL), the Snohomish County Explosion will be defending its 2007 West Division Championship Title against teams from across the Western United States, Canada and China. Explosion LLC was founded in 2006 by former Microsoft Manager and CEO of Courtyard Media Group Inc. Nathan Mumm.

Comcast's On Demand service features a library of over 10,000 titles per month - from local Western Washington events, festivals and sports to national movies, music and top TV shows, and lifestyle programs - available anytime consumers want to watch them, with the ability to fast forward, rewind and pause selections. Comcast recently announced Project Infinity, which will continue the company's commitment to deliver exponentially more On Demand content choice, including more high-definition, sports, movies, kids' programs and network TV shows.
