
Explosion suffer heartbreaking loss

Snohomish County Explosion News Release
Monroe, Washington - June 19th 2009 - With MVP candidate Devon Greene out of the game, on the bench with a bruised knee, the bench along with All Star Center Ike Ohanson who all brought their (A) game in a two point loss.
The night had the IBL leading scorer Devon Greene on the bench, and Chris Weakley led both on and off the floor and collected 32 points in the heart breaking loss. Explosion center Ike Ohanson had 22 points and 13 rebounds, Jason Hicks starting his first game at Point Guard was 2 assist shy from a triple double with 11 rebounds, 19 points and 8 assists. The Explosion were 24/32 from the free throw line and missed crucial shots down the stretch in a game that could have gotten the Explosion back to .500 for the season. Anthony Slater was held to just 8 assists and Chris Ferguson had 11 points coming off the bench.
The Explosion are currently 7-9 on the season and they take on the IBL best tonight at Monroe Sports Arena against the Vancouver Volcanoes. The young talented team have four games left in the season and have never been under .500 in a season and first year coach Weakley hopes to continue this streak.
