Snohomish County Explosion News Release
The Explosion is now ranked 4th in the IBL league according to the Massy Ratings http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/ratings/?lid=122 with the third best offense. The lowest category in the rankings can be improved tonight with the HA (Home Court Advantage) for Explosion versus the Vancouver Volcanoes game at the Everett Events Center (EEC) at 7:00pm.
Final roster changes for the season include the release of both Sean Muilenburg and Michael Nowell. Both of these players were released from the Explosion roster after several trade attempts for a package deal of both players to other IBL teams. "We had a great deal on the table with a few teams and Tacoma's front office was very interested, but we could not get a deal done before Saturday's game at Lewis County." General Manager for the Explosion, Nathan Mumm stated. "In the best interest of the players and the Explosion organization, we released them both. Fans might see one or both of them join us again later in the season if we get into a serious injury situation." Mumm added. Other IBL teams who may be struggling in the conference could also offer these players a spot on their rosters. Seattle, Lewis County, and Vancouver have a combined 2-10 record and could look for help to keep up with the 4-1 Portland team.
With the Explosion's final roster set for the season, both coach Randy Redwine, and Mumm feels the Explosion could be the premier team in the Western Conference, battling against one of the original IBL team's - Portland. Portland is currently sitting in first place of the Western Conference so the Explosion still has room for improvement and looks to show this tonight against Vancouver.
"Defense and rebounding will make this team a contender for the post season" says head coach Randy Redwine after the team shoot around at EEC last night. "We have got a team coming in that is hungry for a win and if we do not play our game we could have a real dog fight. (Vancouver currently is 0-4)."
