Portland, OR-The number 2 seed Everett Explosion will match up against the 7th seed Vancouver Volcanoes in the first round of the International Basketball League West Region Playoff tournament.

The West Region Playoffs will be held at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon June 29 - July 1.

The East Region Playoffs will be held on the same weekend in Elkhart, Indiana at North Side Gym.

Everett Explosion (16-4)- Everett has won three straight-locking up the West Division title in the process-- following a tough loss to Eugene on June 9. The Explosion have been one of the league's hottest teams in the IBL heading into the postseason, going 12-2 over their last 14 games. The Explosion have put together a deep and talented squad for their inaugural IBL season, and local basketball fans have taken notice, as the Explosion's home opener on April 10 drew 3,777 and season ending game capped of with 2065 fans. Everett will host Seattle on June 26 to close out their regular season before facing Vancouver in the playoffs on Friday, June 29 at 6:15pm. Vancouver Volcanoes (6-16)- The Volcanoes have been energized by the return of 2006 IBL All-Star Brad Lechtenberg following an ankle injury. Lechtenberg helped keep Vancouver close in two recent losses against surging Santa Barbara, and scored 34 points in a win over Phoenix on June 24. The Volcanoes close out their regular season against Phoenix on June 26 before beginning postseason action versus Everett on June 29.
