
Explosion look for sportscaster

Snohomish County Explosion News Release
Jeff Aaron "The Fish" from "3 to 6 with The Fish", held a live sportscaster search for the voice of the Explosion this afternoon. With the skilled judging panel of Pat Dillion (the voice of the Aquasox), Keith Gerhart (the voice of the Silvertips), and Tom Lafferty (PA announcer of the Aquasox), voices from across the nation matched their play by play skill against each other for the chance to by the voice of Explosion Basketball.
Judges were asked to score the contestants on a scale from one to ten in three categories: clarity, delivery and quality. After ten play by play clips the judges narrowed the contestants down to three finalists. Once the scores were tallied, Ryan Cunningham from North Dakota was the winner. Cunningham has 12 years of play by play experience, including 8 at the collegiate level. The Explosion staff will move forward with a job offer and contract to the Cunningham.
The Explosion kicks off its season on the road April 7th against the Lewis County Raptors. The first home game will be April 10th versus the Vancouver Volcanoes at 7pm at the Everett Events Center.
