Snohomish County Explosion News Release
MONROE, Wash. - May 14, 2008 - It should be a battle of opposing philosophies on the court this weekend when the Snohomish County Explosion take on the Central Oregon Hotshots at 7:15pm on Saturday, May 17 in the Monroe Sports Arena. While the Snohomish County Explosion concentrates on playing solid defense, the Central Oregon Hotshots are sure to focus their efforts on offensive strategy.
The Hotshots are currently in 1st place in the IBL Southwest Division and ended up as the highest scoring basketball team in the world last year. They defeated the Chicago Heights 194-176 in June of last year, making the Hotshots one of the highest scoring teams in the history of organized basketball.
"Their history shows that they can come in and score a lot of points at any given time," said Brad Sturlaugson, General Manager of the Snohomish County Explosion. "They obviously have players that can score in bunches. This will be our first game against them this season, so it should be an interesting match-up."
The Explosion will also be offering a special half-price rate for graduating high school seniors, local union members, members of local 4H organizations and Equestrian club members attending the game this Saturday, May 17. Be sure to mention your organization at the ticket booth for the half-price discount.
This Saturday is also Wolf Night! Seattle's 100.7 "The Wolf" will be on location with Scratch the Mascot and the Wolf Street Team. So come out and be a part of Wolf Night at Explosion Basketball!
