
Explosion fall to Portland Waves 141-124

Snohomish County Explosion News Release
Monroe, Washington - May 8th 2009 - The Snohomish County Explosion struggled on the road in Portland against the new IBL expansion team Portland Waves Friday night. The Explosion leading scorer Devon Greene arrived just before game time to rejoin the team after attending to an urgent family issue back home in Arizona but was held to a season low 12 points.
The Explosion bench was a bright spot in the loss as Manny Kennedy had 15 points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes. Newly acquired guard and former Slam Chris Ferguson had 27 points off of the bench after hitting 8 three point shots from behind the line. Ford had a solid night with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Anthony Slater lead the team with 17 assist.
The Explosion are now 4-4 for the season and the bench got valuable minutes tonight while the top two players struggled. The young Explosion get back to practice tomorrow to improve on a few areas before next week.
The Explosion hope to rebound next week as they take on the Vancouver Volcanoes currently 5-1 on the season. The Explosion will then return home on May 30th against the Vancouver Titans. Tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
