Snohomish County Explosion News Release
The Snohomish County Explosion (0-1) begin the season with a loss to the USA All Stars (4-6) on opening day for the first time in Franchise History, and now head coach Chris Weakley will have to wait for tomorrow to get his first IBL win under his belt. "Right now, we need to work on a few things but this was a very close great game", said Weakley, "We have some things to work on but we are a fast and strong team and one game does not make a season."

The new look Explosion's off-season acquisitions stepped up big but the veteran team won tonight. The Explosion average age is just 26 years of age, with the top two scorers being just 24 years old. Newly acquired center Brad Kanis made quite the "BOOM in his Explosion debut. Kanis had 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks.
The Explosion look to even up the road trip tomorrow in Portland against the USA All Stars with a 5:00 pm tipoff before coming home on April 18th, to the Monroe Sport Arena for a game against Seattle. Seattle has never won a game against the Explosion but has opened the season with a win over the IBL defending champions the Bellingham Slam.
