Bellevue, WA - The Everett Explosion claimed the IBL's West Division title in its inaugural season with a 113-102 victory over the Seattle Mountaineers. With the Explosion's three 2007 All Stars; Donald Watts former University of Washington standout and son of Sonics legend Slick Watts, Justin Murray former player with Washington State, and Rashaad Powell University of Idaho standout and 2006 IBL All Star MVP, scoring 65 points combining for over half of the teams points this expansion team is no standard first year team.
The Explosion now holding a 15-4 record on the season with one game remaining Tuesday against Seattle at the Everett Events Center Seattle drops to 10-13 with the loss. Rashaad Powell led the way with 30 points for Everett. Neither team came out shooting well as the first half ended with Seattle leading 41-38. Everett nearly doubled their first half output by recording 75 points in the second half. Lamar Gayle led the way for Seattle with 20 points.
