Snohomish County Explosion News Release

Edmonton, Canada - May 23rd 2009 - The Snohomish County Explosion drop the second game in two nights from Edmonton 120 - 148. The Explosion players, some with little or no sleep, could not overcome illness and will rejoice to get out of Canada and back into the United States.

This of course has nothing to do with the graceful city and host Edmonton Energy but more to do with the oddities of traveling to a different country.

The Explosion jumped out to an early lead Saturday night before even more craziness started. It started first with the official scoreboard going out four times with the first outage creating a discrepancy in the score as Thomas Tomsic hit a three as the quarter expired and the board did not reflect this to start the next quarter.

Next the Explosion were up by 15 points to start the game however, a few minutes into the second quarter the cross checking began, legal in Canada for Hockey but not Basketball, this later caused a 20 plus foul discrepancy for the second half.

Explosion Assistant coach "Q" was even hit from the men in blue with a technical foul as players were battling to stay physically in the game. When players weren't running to the locker room for fluids or to avoid getting sick on the court, they looked much better then last night running the offense and rotating in the zone Defense.

The Explosion are now 5-6 for the season and look forward to redeeming themselves at home. The young Explosion have 9 games left in the season with seven of them at home. The Explosion look to the Monroe Sports Arena and the home town fans to return on May 30th against the Vancouver Titans. Tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
