Snohomish County Explosion News Release

Monroe, Washington - June 27th 2009 -The Snohomish County Explosion (8-11) drop a 148 -133 game to Seattle Friday Night in Monroe. The game was overtaken by more of the physical play that the official crew was allowing then traditional basketball. "I have coached just under 100 games in College and over 500 games at the Junior High and High school level and I have never seen such a horrible job from the officials as I did tonight." said owner Nathan Mumm. "I have asked the league severely times to take care of this and it is still not good this needs fixed and fixed fast players are getting killed on the court and it ruins the game." The outcome of the game may not have been different but at least both teams would have been safer on the court then the two hour boxing match from baseline to baseline. Many frustrated players on both teams voiced frustration about the physical play that was allowed to happen on the court and local press had more then a few comments from players.

Former Explosion players and current players lit up the score board as Seattle's guard retired-unretired- University of Washington Donald Watts with 30 points. The Explosion were led by All Star candidate Ike Ohanson with 30 points and 17 rebounds. The difference between the teams was very evident one team is an up and coming team with young players still learning the in and outs of pro basketball as the other team has veteran players that are savvy and experience.

The Explosion are currently 8-11 on the season and they take on the expansion Yamhill Highfliers Sunday at 7:15pm. The young talented Explosion team has one game left in the season before the end of a season under first year coach Weakley. Don't miss the action as tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
