Snohomish County Explosion News Release
Portland, OR-The International Basketball League announces today that the Snohomish County Explosion will participate in the IBL for the next three years. The announcement was made after Snohomish County pre-paid their 2009 dues and as well-landed the rights to host the west regional tournament again for the next three years-2009, 2010 and 2011.
IBL Commissioner Mikal Duilio - "We are excited about playing the IBL tournament in Snohomish County over the next three years, because it is fairly central to where our teams are coming from but also and mostly because of Brad Sturlaugson, Nathan Mumm and their volunteers and staff. The Explosion staff put on a great regional tournament-they cared about each and every game. The Explosion professionalism is what prompted me as Commissioner to contact them about a three year deal in hosting the tournament".
Explosion's Nathan Mumm - "The Explosion organization is looking forward to continued growth in Snohomish County and continued rivalries with Tacoma, Bellingham, and Vancouver. We have looked at several leagues this season and for minor league basketball- the IBL has a lot to offer. Our fans are the best and most loyal fans on the west coast. Also, we look to return all of the Explosion staff from year 1 to year 3-an accomplishment not heard of in professional sports, even less so in the minor leagues."
Snohomish County Explosion finished their year with 14 wins and 10 losses.
