Explosion Adds New Assistant Coach

There will be a new face on the Explosion bench for the team's sophomore season. Dwight Edwards will be an assistant coach for the 2008 season. "Dwight brings a passion for the game of basketball and a strong work ethic to the organization," states General Manager Brad Sturlaugson. "He adds a different type of intensity to practice and we are fortunate to have him aboard for this season."

Edwards was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO for two years on a basketball scholarship. He averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds per game during his two years in Lexington. He then attended Upper Iowa University, playing quarterback for the football team and as an assistant coach for women's basketball team. He coached eight years of A.A.U. ball acquiring three state and two regional titles. He has placed nine of his players in Division I schools. His most famous former player is Oakland Raider, John Madsen.
