Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are pleased to announce the additions of experienced forwards Corey Hertzog and Zak Boggs for the 2016 United Soccer League season.

Hertzog led the NCAA Division I in goals during his junior year at Penn State University before joining the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer's 2011 SuperDraft. The 25-year-old from Reading, Pa. scored nine goals for the Wilmington Hammerheads during a loan spell in 2012 and returned to the USL with Orlando City in 2014.

He spent last season with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League.

Hertzog made a substitute appearance for Tampa during the Hounds' 1-0 win over the Floridians in last year's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third round clash at Highmark Stadium.

Boggs, 29, played three seasons with the New England Revolution after graduating from the University of South Florida. He played under Riverhounds head coach Mark Steffens at the Charlotte Eagles during the 2014 season.

Vienna, West Virginia native Boggs spent last season alongside Hertzog in Tampa.
