June 6, 2007 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Snohomish County Explosion News Release
Matt Heuer is not a former NBA player but is an employee in the front office of the Sonics and Storm organization. Matt a 6'9" power forward, and graduate of Peninsula High school in Gig Harbor. He has been practicing with the practice squad for four weeks and practicing with the WNBA Storm in Seattle to get ready for the fast paced IBL action.
Matt brings high energy to the team and is very active around the basket and ads depth to the post. With this signing the Explosion has released David White who was finishing his college classes at SPU, and will be pursuing interests in China.
The Explosion (12-3) need a real inside presence for the upcoming playoffs and will be battling against Portland for the IBL West Division. As per league rules all players that participate in the post season must have played with that team at least three games, so look for a few final signings for a championship run.
This Thursday will be a true match of the West vs. East in the IBL with the first place team in the WidWest division Elgin Racers (11-3) Thursday taking on the West Division leaders your Explosion basketball team at the Everett Events Center. Tip off is 7:00pm and tickets are available online at www.evererettexplosion.com
