Everblades Trade Stephens to Chicago

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has traded defenseman Evan Stephens to the Chicago Express in exchange for future considerations.
Stephens, 23, appeared in two preseason games finishing with an assist and a plus-2 rating. He joined the 'Blades last spring posting an assist in three regular season games, while adding another assist in four playoff appearances. The 6-0, 185-lb blue-liner was a productive starter at Dartmouth, totaling 81 points (19g, 62a) and 198 penalty minutes during his career. Stephens led all Big Green defenseman in scoring in three of the past four seasons, while also being named honorable mention All-Ivy, and third team All-ECAC during his junior year.
The Blades are preparing for opening weekend, which begins Friday, October 14, against division rival Gwinnett at Germain Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to enter the arena will receive a 'Blades Magnet Schedule courtesy of Jani-King.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Join us for the McDonald's Tailgate Party beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be live music by Zombie University and bounce houses for the kids. The first 5,000 fans to enter the arena, will receive a commemorative folder, which features current and former Everblades players presented by Edison College.
There will also be an Everblades Alumni game against the FGCU Club Hockey team beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. A $10 minimum donation is required to attend. The jerseys worn by Blades Alumni will be auctioned off later that night. All proceeds from the donations and jersey auction will benefit the Piper Buckley Foundation. There will be free parking provided to fans that day until 5:00 p.m.
