EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats (1-1) will participate in their first road game of the season this Saturday night when they face off against the Lexington Horsemen (1-1) at Rupp Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm, Evansville time, and can be heard live on News-Talk 1280 WGBF-AM and on the web at www.103gbfrocks.com with Jimmie Ford on play-by-play.

Last Saturday, the BlueCats looked impressive in a 47-24 victory over the Ohio Valley Greyhounds. Running back Ray Kirkley led the BlueCats offense with 2 rushing touchdowns and BlueCats defensive end LaDrelle Bryant was named UIF Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Greyhounds. Lexington is coming off a 46-39 overtime loss to the River City Rage.

The BlueCats enter Saturday's game with the league's best rushing offense, averaging more than 100 yards per game, and over 20 yards more than the second place team. The BlueCats rank 2nd in the league pass defense, and 1st in defensive pass efficiency. Evansville also leads the league in turnover margin with a +5 after two weeks of play.

Meanwhile, Lexington leads the league in kickoff return average. The Horsemen defensive line has not recorded a sack, while the Horsemen offensive line has not yet given up a sack. Overall, Lexington ranks 8th in the league total offense, and 9th in total defense.

Evansville BlueCats Head Coach John Hart said, "We've had a very good week of practice with good intensity and I expect that to carry over into Saturday. It's our first game away from Roberts Stadium and how well we play against Lexington should tell us a lot about our team."

This past week, the Evansville BlueCats and Sioux City Bandits executed a player trade sending linebacker Rudy Foye and lineman Marvin Campbell to the Bandits in exchange for former Kentucky Wesleyan quarterback Haven Mosley.
