July 16, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release
Evansville, IN - The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have announced the preliminary 2015-16 Promotional Schedule for the upcoming ECHL season that opens up on Saturday, October 17th at 7:15pm against the Indy Fuel.
Of the thirty-six regular season home games at the Ford Center, twenty-six currently have either a special promotion or a giveaway planned and the IceMen organization continues to finalize events or giveaways for the other ten regular season games. Among the events planned for this year include the return of the "Education Day Game" onWednesday, November 4th @ 9:30 in the morning; "Prostate Cancer Awareness Night" on Saturday, November 21st featuring a speciality jersey and an appearance by 1980 "Miracle" Team USA member Dave Christian; "New Year's Eve Game" on December 31st featuring post-game fireworks; our annual "Star Wars Night" on Saturday, January 16th; and the "Pink the Rink Weekend" on Friday & Saturday, February 26th & 27th.
"Our focus is to have something for everyone," said Evansville IceMen Marketing Director, Bridget McDonald. "Education Day has become a terrific annual event, drawing over 7600 children to the Ford Center for a morning game. The indoor fireworks were a big success on New Year's Eve as we drew over 8000 so we wanted to bring them back. Our largest crowd last season was on Star Wars Night when 9391 attended so we are looking for another great night on January 16th, and Pink the Rink Night, with fans having opportunity to paint loved ones names on the ice, was far more emotional than expected so with the assistance of Susan G. Komen Evansville Tri-State we are going to make it an entire weekend event on February 26th & 27th. And we are working on some additional events for the upcoming IceMen season."
