
Rodwell Returns to Eagles Country

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced Thursday that they have re-signed Derek Rodwell for the 2015-16 season. A 5th round pick of the New Jersey Devils in the 2009 NHL Draft, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward netted 11 goals and eight assists in 64 games as a rookie last season with Colorado.
Prior to launching his professional career, Rodwell spent the previous four seasons at the University of North Dakota. During his time in Grand Forks, the Taber, Alberta native registered 24 points in 123 games. He also helped UND capture WCHA championships in both 2011 and 2012, while being named to the WCHA All-Academic Team in 2012 and 2013.
The 25-year old enjoyed a very productive career at the junior level with the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL, where he would post 101 points and 146 penalty minutes in 158 total contests. During his final season with the Oilers, Rodwell potted 18 goals and added 35 assists in 55 games.
