Eugene Chargers News Release
Eugene, OR--The Eugene Chargers has secured a commitment from Charles "The Beast" Easterling for the coming season. Easterling, a 6'2", 220 pound guard was nicknamed "The Beast" by a high school teammate because of his uncanny ability to rebound over much taller opponents.
Easterling led his high school team in Connecticut to two State Championships, was named 1st Team All-State in his junior and senior years and 1st Team All-New England in his senior year. He then played for Kilgore Junior College in Texas where he averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in 2003. Since then he has played in Mexico as well as in many pro-am leagues in the northeast.
This past summer Charles played in the Rucker Summer League in New York City against top NBA and professional players and averaged over 27 points per game. Easterling will compete for the starting point guard spot for the Chargers.
Eugene Chargers General Manager Carl Berman-"We feel that this is the perfect opportunity for Charles to showcase his basketball talent. Not only is he a very talented player, Charles has a great basketball IQ, is very coachable and has great character off the court. We are very pleased to help him reach his dreams".
