ESPN 950 Becomes Radio Partner of the Soul

PHILADELPHIA (March 14, 2012) - The Philadelphia Soul announce that all games of the 2012 Soul season will be aired exclusively on WPEN 950AM, ESPN Radio. ESPN Radio is part of Greater Media Radio Stations. Matt Martucci of 97.5 The Fanatic and anchor and three-year announcer for Saint Josephs Sports Network, will be the new voice of the Soul.

"This is a great opportunity for us as an organization. ESPN Radio is a premiere sports station in Philadelphia and has quickly built a loyal listenership in our great sports market," said Soul COO/VP John Adams. "We are excited to have our games broadcast live on their station. We think this is a great partnership for Greater Media, the Soul, and most importantly the Soul fans."

Matt Martucci is excited to enter his first season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Philadelphia Soul on 950 ESPN. Martucci arrived at 97.5 The Fanatic in March 2010 and currently serves as a local morning update anchor during the nationally-syndicated Mike & Mike in the Morning show.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to join the Philadelphia Soul for what I believe to be an amazing opportunity," Martucci said. "The Soul has a longstanding track record of success and I'm excited to be a part of it. I look forward to bringing my passion for broadcasting and the game to our listeners, game in and game out."

The Syracuse University graduate has spent his entire broadcasting career in Philadelphia, starting in 2006 with Saint Joseph's University as and was promoted in 2009 to the voice of SJU Men's Basketball on the Saint Joseph's Sports Network. Matt graduated in 2006 from Syracuse University with his bachelor's degree as a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish Language/Culture.

The first broadcast of the 2012 season comes in Week 2 of the Arena Football League schedule. On Sunday, March 18 the Soul go on the road in New Orleans. Kickoff is set at 4 p.m. from the New Orleans Arena against the New Orleans VooDoo.

The partnership doesn't end with coverage of the Soul on game days. The Coaches Show will also broadcast live from Totaro's Restaurant in Conshohoken, PA every Wednesday night from 8-9 p.m. The show will be hosted by Joe Krause, Vinnie "The Crumb", Jason Ashworth, and Soul Head Coach Doug Plank.
