Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators string of 116 games without being shut out came to an end on Saturday night against the Erie SeaWolves in a 7-0 loss. Harrisburg hadn't been shut out since falling to Trenton on April 17th in game one of a doubleheader. It's only the third time this season that they've been shut out.

The Senators only mustered four hits off three Erie pitchers, all singles, and had two runners on at the same time just once. They've now gone 18 innings in this series against Erie and they've only scored a single run which was on Friday in the ninth inning.

Erik Arnesen started and pitched much better than his final line as he fell to 8-4 on the season allowing four earned run in six innings of work. The big blow for Erie came in the sixth inning when Deik Scram hit a two-run home run with two outs giving Erie a 3-0 lead. The SeaWolves scored four runs in the seventh inning to break the game open.

Luis Marte made a spot start for Erie and pitched five innings to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Even with the two straight losses, the Senators will begin play on Sunday afternoon still in first place in the Western Division.

The final game of the three-game series is Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with RH Shairon Martis on the hill for the Sens and LH Jay Voss for Erie. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 1:50 p.m.
