Erie BayHawks Announce 2018-19 Schedule

ERIE, PA - The NBA G League released its schedule for the 2018-19 season today. The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, will begin the season with a two-game homestand, beginning on Friday, November 2 versus the Grand Rapids Drive and on Saturday, November 3 versus the Lakeland Magic. Both games are set to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. The complete 2018-19 Erie BayHawks schedule can be found here.

Notable dates and promotions this season include:

- Friday, November 2: Home Opener

- Sunday, January 27: Salute Our Troops (3:00 p.m.)

- Tuesday, February 5: School Kids Jam (11:00 a.m.)

- Saturday, February 23: Celebrate Your Faith

- Saturday, March 23: Final game of the regular season

A full schedule of promotions will be announced at a later date.

The NBA G League will have a record 27 teams this season, with the addition of the Capital City Go-Go, affiliate of the Washington Wizards. The Go-Go will join the BayHawks in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference, replacing the Delaware 87ers, now the Delaware Blue Coats. The Blue Coats will compete in the Atlantic Division this season. The Southeast Division will have four teams, consisting of the BayHawks, Go-Go, Greensboro Swarm and Lakeland Magic.

The BayHawks will play each of their Southeast Division opponents four times throughout the 2018-19 season, twice at home and twice away. Erie will face the defending Eastern Conference champion Raptors 905 three times this season, twice in the month of November. The 905's only trip to Erie is set for Tuesday, November 27. The newest member of the NBA G League family, the Capital City Go-Go, will make their way to Erie for the first time on Saturday, February 23.

The non-conference home schedule is highlight by the Austin Spurs, reigning NBA G League champions, making a trip to Erie Insurance Arena on Tuesday, March 5. The Spurs are coached by former BayHawks guard Blake Ahearn.

Two additional regular season games will be played at the NBA G League Showcase, which will be announced at a later date.

Erie will play eight sets of back-to-back games this season, down from nine last year. The BayHawks will host a total of 16 home weekend contests and eight weekday contests. Of the 16 home weekend matches, seven games will be played on a Friday, seven on a Saturday and two contests on a Sunday.

The BayHawks will compete in a season-high six home games in the month of March, including finishing the 2018-19 campaign with a three-game homestand, playing three games in four nights. Erie will embark on a four-game west coast road trip in the month of December, taking on the South Bay Lakers (Dec. 8), Stockton Kings (Dec. 10), Agua Caliente Clippers (Dec. 13) and Santa Cruz Warriors (Dec. 15).

This season marks the team's 11th season in the NBA G League and second year as NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club. It is the first season for both BayHawks General Manager Derek Pierce and Head Coach Noel Gillespie.
