
Energy FC Sign Norman Standout Kalen Ryden

OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC has signed defender Kalen Ryden to a player contract, the team's front office announced today.
Ryden, a 6-2, 200-pound native of Norman, OK returns to his home state. Originally drafted by the Columbus Crew (MLS) in the 4th round of the 2015 MLS Superdraft, Ryden started a match May 27 in a friendly match against Valencia.
Earlier this season, Ryden played nine games with the Austin Azetx of the USL, starting eight and scoring one goal.
Prior to turning pro, Ryden played four seasons of soccer at the collegiate level at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa and Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. Throughout his college career, he was a constant fixture in the starting lineup, starting in 62 of the matches in which he played. During his senior season at MSU, he was named to the NSCAA All South Central Region First Team.
Energy FC is knocking on the door of first place in the Western Conference when they host the Austin Aztex this Saturday at historic Taft Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available by calling the Energy FC office at 235-KICK or visiting energyfc.com.
