OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC invited two players from the open tryouts to train with the team in Florida, the club announced today.

Nearly 200 players attended the Energy FC open tryouts in the hopes of making the team for the 2016 season. Defender Kalem Scott and left back/left winger Hellah Sidibe did exceptionally well and, in three short days, convinced Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen to give them a chance.

"This whole time when I found out about the tryout, I worked my butt off just to get here, just to be around these guys," Hellah Sidibe said. "I knew at the end of the day I was going to get something out of it. It was a great opportunity."

"To all of us, it's just a dream to play pro soccer... so to have the opportunity to take it one step further, and go with a quality club like OKC Energy, it's a dream starting to unfold and come true," Kalem Scott said. "So I'm just trying to take my opportunities and make the most of it."

Scott and Sidibe are not guaranteed a spot on Energy FC's 2016 roster. While in Florida, the coaches will deliberate and determine if either of the players is a good fit for the team.

"They're two great players. Now it's in their hands to come in and compete with the guys," Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen said. "If they can do well, we will absolutely not hesitate offer them a contract."

Energy FC will host FC Dallas in a preseason match at historic Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City on February 27. Season Seat Holders tickets are available by contacting the Energy office at 235-KICK or visiting energyfc.com.
