
Empire Shuffles Roster Prior to Week 8 Matchup

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Empire has signed kicker Kyle Brotzman to their 2016 IFL roster and activated wide receiver Samuel Charles from the short-term injured reserve list. Defensive lineman Bryon Bennett has also been activated from the transfer MLFB list.
Brotzman (K, 5-10, 190, Boise State) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the Indoor Football League. Kyle played three seasons in the Arena Football League with the Utah Blaze from 2011-2013. With the Blaze, Brotzman connected on 3-of-7 field goal attempts and 232-of-276 extra point attempts.
Kyle played his collegiate career at Boise State University where he joined the team as a walk-on before earning the starting kicker and punting duties. He earned second-team All-WAC honors in 2007 and was the Bronco's co-Special Teams Player of the Year in 2008. He was also a key member of Boise State's 2010 Fiesta Bowl winning team.
Complete Transactions: The Empire signed Kyle Brotzman (K, 5-10, 190, Boise State), activated Samuel Charles (WR, 6-4, 220, Edward Waters) from the short-term injured reserve list, and activated Bryon Bennett (DL, 6-2, 295, Ole Miss) from the transfer MLFB list. Dillon Quinn (DL, 6-7, 295, Boston College), Darryl Thompson (WR, 5-8, 180, Texas A&M Commerce), and Brady Beeson (K, 6-0, 200, St. Thomas) were released.
