Spokane Empire News Release
SPOKANE, Washington- The Empire has signed offensive lineman Kyle Fischer to their 2017 IFL roster.
Fischer (OL, 6-6, 320, Vanderbilt) rejoins the Empire for his second season as a member of the IFL. Last season in Spokane, Kyle contributed on the offensive line and special teams. In 2015, he joined the former Shock for their 2015 training camp before going on to spend time with the CFL's B.C. Lions.
"Kyle is a strong and physical offensive lineman that helped our team in a number of areas last season," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "He is extremely athletic and can protect against the best pass rushers in the league. We're looking forward to having him back next year."
Fischer played his collegiate career at Vanderbilt University where he started 30 consecutive games for the Commodores over his final three seasons. Over his five-year collegiate career at Vanderbilt, Fischer saw action at multiple positions on the offensive line and was co-captain of the team during his senior season. Fischer is originally from Columbia, South Carolina where he played his prep career at Spring Valley High School.
