Emily's March for a Match June 18
Published on June 16, 2015 under National Pro Fastpitch (NPF)
Texas Charge News Release
Emily Thompson is 13 years old. She was the happy baby who would always wake in the morning and say "it's a sunny day!" Emily is a natural singer and also plays the guitar and flute.
The signs that something was wrong were not immediately recognized. However, after Emily had several bruises that would not go away, her mother took her to the doctor.
After several tests, Emily was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. Emily will need a marrow transplant for a cure, and her brother and parents were not a match.
Emily has declared that she is "going to beat this." However, she needs you to join the Be The Match Registry to help her and others like her who need a marrow transplant from someone that is not in their family. Patients needing a bone marrow transplant only have a 30 percent probability of finding a donor in their family. 70 percent will need to find a donor outside their family. You could be a cure for someone in need.

On Thursday, June 18, the Dallas Charge will take on the Pennsylvania Rebellion at 7 pm. On this night, we will be partnering with Be The Match, a leader in bone marrow transplantation, to benefit Emily's March for a Match.
