
Eller Leads Vortex to 12-9 Win in Home Finale

Allen Eller tied a league record with six goals and finished a monster weekend with 10 goals in two Ohio Vortex wins. The Vortex got the best of the Louisville Lightning tonight, 12-9, at the season home finale at the Canton Civic Center.
Ohio, who finished 4-4 at home, improved to 4-5 overall. Louisville fell to 4-4. Though Ohio remains in last place in the Eastern Division, they trail first place Cincinnati by just two games.
The game was tied five different times, and Louisville led 2-1 and 7-6. Milko Cecez gave Ohio the lead for good when he scored with 2:53 remaining in the third quarter. His goal gave the Vortex an 8-7 lead. Eller's goal with 11:43 to go in the game gave Ohio a 10-8 lead and held up as the official game-winning goal.
With Louisville trailing just 10-9 Eller closed out the game with two goals in the last minute of the game.
Cecez finished with three goals and an assist. Safet Kovacevic (3-1-4) and David Horne (1-3-4) each had four points in a losing effort for the Lightning.
