San Diego Sockers News Release
The San Diego Sockers got a trio of hat tricks from Kraig Chiles, Diego Rovira, and Chiky Luna to double up the Texas Outlaws 14-7 before 1,797 at Del Mar Arena.
Paul Wright was the top point man with five on two goals and three assists to take over the league scoring lead. Chiles leads the league in goals.
The Sockers trailed 2-1 after the first quarter, but as they have done a few times before this year they exploded for seven goals in the second quarter. John Andrews and Matthew Clark scored for Texas to tie the game at 5-5, but San Diego reeled off three goals in the final five minutes of the first half to go into the lockerrooms leading 8-5.
The Outlaws only scored twice in the second half and both times the Sockers answered back less than a minute later to quell and ideas of an uprising.
San Diego (10-1) cut its magic number to clinch the Western Division and overall best record to four. Texas (4-4) has a road game against the California Cougars tomorrow.
