Bend Elks News Release
The Bend Elks once again got some good pitching and some timely hitting, namely from Bo Walter, who went 4-4 in the game on Tuesday as the Bend Elks defeated the Walla Walla Sweets by a score of 6-4.
The Elks jumped out to an early lead against the Sweets as they got on the board first in the bottom half of the first inning. Darian Ramage led off the game by reaching on an error, and he shortly scored as Ryne Clark hit an RBI triple two batters later to give the Elks the lead. He was followed by Bo Walter, who went 4-4 on the night, who hit an RBI single to give the Elks a 2-0 lead after 1.
The Elks added 2 more in the second and one more in the third as Parker Guinn and Steven Halcomb had RBI singles to give the Elks a 5-0 lead. That would be all of the scoring until the top half of the 7th inning when the Sweets got on the bored against Elks reliever Patrick Keane, though the run was unearned. The Elks added one themselves in the bottom of the 7th as Bo Walter singled, stole second, and scored on an RBI single from Taylor Ausbun to give the Elks a 6-1 lead after 7.
For the third consecutive night however, the Sweets didn't go down without a fight. They scored three runs in the top half of the 9th inning before Elks reliever Danny Grazzini shut them down with the tying runner stranded on 1st.
The Elks take 3 days off before resuming action Saturday night against the Corvallis Knights as the Famous San Diego Chicken makes his return to Bend, first pitch at 6:35.
