The Elks and Black Bears were locked in a pitcher's duel until the Black Bears scored 1 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th, en route to defeating the Elks 5-0.
The Elks could get nothing going against Black Bear starter Cody Rogina, who got the win after pitching 6 scoreless innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 1. For the Elks, Darin Gillies got the loss on the night as he struggled with his command, Gillies pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, walking 4 and striking out 3. For the Elks, Joey Mathews had the only multi-hit night, going 2-3, and Will Sparks went 0-4 in the game, coming up short in his quest for the West Coast league all time batting average, finishing the season with a .
The Elks will play non-league games against the Olympia Senators on August 21st and 22nd, first pitch for both games at 6:35.
