For the second night in a row the Bend Elks put 13 runs on the scoreboard at Kiger Stadium and dominated the Klamath Falls Gems Wednesday night, taking down the Gems 13-1 in West Coast League action.
Elks batters managed to get 16 hits including a big 6th inning with a solo home run from Jake Peeveyhouse, and for the second night in a row, Brock Carpenter put a 2 run HR over the center field wall. Elks pitching allowed Klamath Falls falls only 5 hits. Jake Thompson took his 3rd win of the season, allowing only 3 hits and an earned run while striking out 6 in six solid innings of work. Relievers J.T.Kaul, Michael Bennett and Rio Gomez, pitched an inning each and collectively gave up only 2 more hits.
The Elks go for the sweep of the Gems Thursday evening at Kiger Stadium, first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM and can be heard at bendelks.com.
