Eliuk to Appear as Batman at Volcanoes Game

PORTLAND, June 23, 2008 - Portland LumberJax goalie and Community Relations Director Dallas Eliuk has idolized Batman since his early childhood in Vancouver, British Columbia. Like his hero, Eliuk has a day and night job, is an active philanthropist and will soon be donning the bat suit. On Saturday, June 28, Eliuk will dress as Batman as part of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Sci-Fi Night. The Volcanoes will be hosting the rival Everett AquaSox at 7:05 p.m. at Volcanoes Stadium.

Star Wars and other science fiction characters will also be in costume. An artist will draw caricatures of fans and kids can get free comics during the game.

Brianne Marie Beaty, a Keizer native and cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers, will sing the national anthem.

The Volcanoes and AquaSox play in the Northwest League, a short season, A classification in Minor League Baseball. The Volcanoes are the affiliate of the San Francisco Giants and the AquaSox are affiliated with the Seattle Mariners.
