Both teams opened the game with early field goals. Reading scored first and the Edge responded. The two then played the same cat and mouse game with a couple of passing touchdowns. The Express threw a short one and then Ricardo Lenhart caught his team leading tenth touchdown of the season. At the end of the 1st quarter, James Temple caught his sixth interception of the season. The teams were tied 10-10 after the 1st quarter.

The Edge failed to convert on their first drive of the 2nd quarter but James Temple came up big in the endzone with his second interception of the game. On the resulting drive, Pete Christofilakos kicked a 22 yard field goal to give the Edge a lead. But with about a minute left in the half the Express threw a touchdown pass to flip the lead in their favor. They missed the extra point attempt. The Edge got the ball back thanks to James Temple's third interception of the game. Pete Christofilakos kicked a 40 yard field goal and tied the game 16-16 at halftime.

The Edge got the 3rd quarter started with a bang. Dusty Burk rushed for a 7 yard touchdown and gave the Edge a lead to start the half. But it quickly went back the other way as Reading marched down the field for a rush touchdown to tie the game again. The Edge got another field goal a short time later as the back and forth action continued. On Reading's next drive, the Edge were able to come up with a big 4th down stop and on the next play Dusty Burk threw a great pass to Ricardo Lenhart for a touchdown to stretch Bloomington's lead. The Edge led 33-23 after the 3rd quarter.

The Express kicked off the 4th quarter by throwing a touchdown pass and bringing the Edge lead to three. The Edge responded with a field goal on their next drive and the Express matched when they got the ball back. The whole game had been back and forth. It looked as though the 4th quarter would be the same. John Cooper made a clutch touchdown reception later in the quarter to help stretch the Edge lead. Then James Temple made his fourth interception of the night. It was his ninth on the season and ties him for the most interceptions in the IFL. Pete Christofilakos kicked his sixth field goal of the game on the resulting drive. The Express threw for another touchdown but the Edge held on after that to close out the win.

On Saturday April 28 the Edge travel to the Green Bay Blizzard. The two have not met this season and will not play again in the regular season. The game starts at 7 pm. For more information on the Edge visit bloomingtonedge.com and the IFL at goifl.com. All games can be heard on WJBC Online.
